CADsmith privacy policy
CADsmith collects no personal data. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not connect to the internet. Your designs stay on your iPad.
Your designs stay on your device
The parts you create, their sketches and feature history, and any STEP files you import are stored in CADsmith's storage on your iPad. We never receive them. If your iPad is backed up to iCloud or a computer, your documents may be included in that backup, which is handled by Apple and by you, not by us.
Files you import and export
CADsmith only reads a file when you pick it yourself in the system file picker. When you export a part as STEP, STL or 3MF, it goes only to the destination you choose, such as the Files app or another app through the share sheet. CADsmith does not scan your device for other files.
Permissions
CADsmith does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts or location.
What CADsmith does not do
- No network connections: no analytics, crash reporting SDKs, ads, advertising identifier or tracking.
- No account or sign-in, and no contact details collected.
- No data sold or shared, because no data is collected.
App Store and Google Play
You download CADsmith from Apple's App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google process data about your purchase and download under their own privacy policies. If you have agreed in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, they may send us aggregated, anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. These do not identify you, and we only use them to fix problems in the app.
Children
CADsmith is a general-purpose design tool. It collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data, and to object to its processing. Because CADsmith does not send your data to us, we hold nothing about you from the app. To remove everything CADsmith stored, delete your documents in the app or uninstall it. If you write to us, we only use your email to reply and delete the conversation when it is no longer needed. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
Changes to this policy
If CADsmith ever starts handling data differently, we will update this policy at this address and change the date at the top before the new version of the app is released.
